Bombardier Signs New Agreement on Rail Industry in Thailand

Bombardier Transportation has signed a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Thailand’s Mahidol University to strengthen co-operation for graduate education and research in the rail industry. The agreement covers academic programs and teaching, and joint research in the areas of rail control and signaling. Bombardier Transportation has operated in Bangkok since 1997, and it has grown into a team of 500 employees. Most recently, Bombardier Transportation provided the trains and systems for Bangkok’s two new, driverless monorail lines and rail control for the city’s Skytrain and Mass Rapid Transit, which altogether carry up to two-million passengers per day. Bombardier Transportation is the rail technology arm of Bombardier, the Montreal-headquartered manufacturer of planes and trains.
