SNC-Lavalin Wins Australian Wind-farm Contract
Montreal-headquartered SNC-Lavalin Group Inc. has been selected as the preferred contractor for the Stockyard Hill wind farm in Victoria, Australia, by Goldwind Australia and has commenced early works. SNC-Lavalin, in joint venture with Australian company WBHO Infrastructure Pty. Ltd., will undertake the engineering design, procurement and construction of all electrical infrastructure on the project in addition to site-wide infrastructure civil works. Stockyard Hill is poised to be the largest wind farm in the southern hemisphere, generating approximately 530 megawatts of clean energy with the potential to power more than 340,000 homes annually.
